Gonna try this again. One and all are welcome.
Rules:
Be friendly, don't make another person's character do something that they wouldn't do, so refrain from using another person's charatcer as your own puppet.
If your post conflicts with another persons post, try and send them a nice PM asking them to adjust their post. Don't flame them, sometimes we all race to be the person that posts first, and someone may beat us to the punch.
Since I am going to be using my Vanguard character, not many of you will be used to what actions my character is, or is not capable of, likewise, I may or may not know what your characters are capable of. try and be descriptive enough to tell us.
Class overlap is welcome here. I don't care if we are all a party of necromancers. Everyone has a different personality, that is what we will bring ot this story.
No God moding. You are not the most powerful person in the world, everyone is going ot balance each other out. So please. . .if you have a pwerful ability, thats cool, but lets keep it realistic.
Finally, HAVE FUN!!
P.S. Gold is the common currency in VG, and I wanna keep it that way, if noone minds.

The oversized man looked at the Gold coins in front of him, and cleared his throat. "Ma'am, your crazy to offer this much for. . ." He was cut off by the lady standing in front of him.
"That is my buisness, sir. Can you do it or not?"
The man put his fat dirty hands upon the bag of coins, but the lady placed her clean gloved hands atop his, halting him before he could scoop his bounty under the table and into his oversized pockets. "Can you do it or not?"
"I can have them ready for you by the days end. With this much money, you'll have your pick of the litter, Ma'am. Pardon the saying. . ." The woman smiled and released her hand, allowing the money to be pocketed. Those coins she offered him was only his commission fee. Not nearly as much as she would pay each person altogether, but more than each person would get individually.
Daini smiled as she turned away from the barkeep and found a comfortable nook to sit in while she drank her sake and watched as the barkeep recruited people for her. He was a great man, and would pick those that suited her needs, but she would watch and see who he picked, so she too, could make her own decisions.
As the warm alcohol slid down her throat, she sighed. By this time tomorrow, she would see if her money was truly going to be put to good use. _________________ Sanity is the worst thing to wish upon a person

(it's been a while so bare with me tev lol)
in the dark corner of the bar sat a wood elf his hair was dark brown and long and wild his blue eyes deep in thought when the bar keep walked up to him
"hello there mate i have someone i need of your talents as a bodyguard" the barkeep said
the wood elves eyes looked calm as he looked at the bar keep
"what are the terms and situation" the wood elf asked
"don't you care about the pay" he asked thinking the elf would be impressed with gold
"i'm a warrior we put our lives on the line i love battle but i won't fight something i find senseless if you client is interested in me they can speak to me themselves" the wood elf spoke harshly as if he had endured countless losses
"but" the warrior cut him off
"i am interested in what you have to offer sir but unless you or your client can offer me information of why this person needs protection you best find your self another sell sword" the wood elf went back to his drink and lost in thought

The barkeep came over to where Daini was sitting and refilled her hot sake.
"See that there lad in the corner?" he said, nodding his shoulder without being too conspicuous. Not that Daini needed the barkeep's nod, she had seen him interact with the surely Elf.
"He's good, I know he is. Been in here often enough, although he keeps to himself." In order to maintain a conversation with Daini, the barkeep pretended to clean off her table, although it truly needed no cleaning.
"Bring him a drink of his choice, and tell him it's from me." Daini said, giving the barkeep her most winning smile. He smiled back at her and rushed back to Elf.
"The lady who'd be interested in hiring ya, offers you a drink of your choice." Then he added in a low voice. "I'd be accepting the offer too if ye were you lad."
Nodding in satisfaction, the barkeep went back to his bar, passing by a short woman, barely noticing her other than not tripping over her. _________________ Sanity is the worst thing to wish upon a person

the elf sat for a moment pondering the offer before he stood up and as he did the woman in the corner could see his dark armor with burgandy markings and the way he carried himself it was as if the heavy armor was a part of him as he moved fluidly in it with out to much noise
"i'll have a brandy" the warrior told the bar keep as he walked towards the last table he was at
as he approached he noticed the way the woman was dressed her linens were the finest he had seen not noble but she is defiently a woman of station she carried herself well but still retain a gentle look about her
"hello ma'am my name is Drakven Swiftedge am i to assume you are the one whom offered me a drink" he said as he took a seat while keeping eye contact with the woman

The tiny woman glared at the retreating back of the barkeeper.
"Meh. Watch where you go," she said under her breath. She had half a mind to send him a shock, but refrained. It wasn't his fault he didn't see her right away.
She leaped onto the stool, and climbed onto the bar, sitting cross-legged.
The little woman was probably knee high to a normal human, and very slender. Her dark, nut brown skin nearly blended in with her dark brown leather tunic. Her black hair was braided in multiples across her head, and feathers dangled from the tips.
Her eyes were so dark, they looked black, and if one looked close enough, one would swear they were souless.
The barkeeper noticed the little woman, and went to her.
Bout time, the woman hrmph'd to herself.
"What can I be getting you, missy?" he asked. His mouth was turned in a genuine smile.
"Just water, please." The barkeeper nodded, and turned his back to her.
Down from her, two men sat, and whispered among themselves, peering in her direction.
"Whatcha be drinkin' little lady?" one asked, as he sidled up to her. His breath reeked of old food, rotten teeth, and whatever drink he had consumed.
"Just water," she answered tersely.
"Here. Let me pay for dat. Barkeep, put it in that." as he pointed about the barkeepers head. The men laughed, and the barkeeper looked at her with sympathy and his eyes apologized. She nodded it was alright.
Dedenda got this all the time. Just because she was small, didn't mean she was helpess. Or fragile.
"Here you go," the barkeeper said, and thunked down a large stein of water. Dedenda scowled. That was enough. The stein was perfect for a human to lift, but it was nearly half her size. Definately too heavy for her to lift, but she had other ways.
She pulled out a straw, and placed it in the water. The smiles faded from the two men's faces, their laughter dying, as they obviously didn't get to her. She winked at them, and they turned their backs to her.
Across the room, Dedenda had caught the attention of a pair of eyes, and they seemed amused.
Feeling devillish, Dedenda sucked water through her straw, and held it, aimed, and sprayed one of the rude men's back.
He howled, as the water splashed on the back of his neck, and trickled down his back. He whirled around, glaring at the little woman. She stood her ground.
"Now. If you don't mind, I will have that water in a proper sized glass." she challenged, as her tiny fist began to glow. The ruffian wiped the water off his neck, and advanced towards her. She mumbled, and sent a bolt of lightning, aiming it at his feet. The man stopped, and looked at her through surprised, alcohol glazed eyes. She smiled sweetly, and thanked the barkeeper when he got the right sized glass for her.
"C'mon, let's get out of here," the drunk said as he grabbed his buddy's arm. When he turned around, she released a small ball of energy, and aimed it at his ample backside. He howled, as the jolt caused him to jump.
When he turned, the tiny woman was gone.
Damn Urisigs, he cursed to himself, as he rubbed the singed spot.
Dedenda chuckled, as she had now retreated towards the back, and found a niche in the wall, as she pulled out a small piece of dried meat.
That, was so worth it.
As she sat, the barkeeper came to her.
"That was a very risky thing you did there, Little one." Dedenda waved it aside.
"Just because I am small doesn't mean I can't take care of myself."
The barkeeper couldn't agree more. She may be small, but he wondered if the Lady could use her.
"Come with me, Little one. I want you to meet someone."
Intrigued, she followed. When they got to the table, the barkeeper gently lift her up, and sat her upon the table.
Dedenda stared at the woman, and her companion.
The woman raised an eyebrow at the barkeeper.
Are you serious? her eyes seemed to say.
His eyes rolled, indicating the prior scene. The woman understood. It was comical, and the little Urisig defiantely held her own.
She nodded once.
"Ok, so the barkeeper brought me here. May I ask, why?" Dedenda asked, her curiosity high. _________________

Assume? Daini almost chuckled at the thought, but instead smiled at the warrior sittng across from her. He was interested, very interested, or else he'd not have come over to find out why she was hiring bodyguards. She raised an eyebrow to this fact but said nothing about it.
"Hello Drakven." Daini said, and took another sip of her sake. His deep blue eyes pierced her as she sat there, saying nothing. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, dying to ask the question, yet barely refraining from doing so.
Daini felt a slight twinge of regret that she was using her skills on someone unkilled in the ways of diplomacy, for it was obvious he was trying to be polite and let her have the oppurtunity to explain herself. Yet, she was unaware of why he had not fully accepted her offer, so it was best to wait and have him ask what he wanted of her.
Finally, he could take it no more. "Why are you looking for bodyguards? What do you need protection from? I am willing to lend you my sword, if it is for a good cause."
Daini smiled and set down her cup of sake. "No cause, Drakven. I simply need bodyguards to escort me from point A to point B. We will be travelling through dangerous territory, and I am simply not fit to defend myself. So I am looking for capable people." _________________ Sanity is the worst thing to wish upon a person

a grin crepted up on drakven's face
"dangerous you say" Drakven's eyes seem to come alive for a moment
Drakven ponder for a moment
"i care little in way of gold i desire no reward a good challenege and company is more then enough for me" Drakven said as he fiddled with a medallion around his neck
"well just like the rest you will be rewarded" she said with a slight grin
"very well i accept gold has little value but it does keep the ale's coming don't it" he grinned
the smile from his face faded before his next question
"but i must ask why you didn't recruit yourself instead of having the bar keep do it for you" Drakven said as thier eye's locked again

Daini smiled again. Gold had value to everyone. Just how people valued it varied. To her, it was a means to reward people for a job well deserved. For some, it was a thing to be covetted and desired. She was not looking for someone of the latter.
"But I must ask. . .why didn't you recruit yurself instead of having the barkeep do it for you?" Drakven asked, locking eyes with Daini.
"Simple. The barkeep knows the people around here, has a good ear and good eye for who around here is worth what I am paying. I need accomplished and experienced people, and I would not have been able to pick you out from a farm boy.
"I exaggerate of course, but Gernardi knows good mettle from the shoddy, and I value his opinion." Daini finished, and brought the sake up to her lips, tilting her head back and finishing off the contents. As soon as she placed the cup down, a barmaid whisked by them, grabbing the cup and hurrying off. Daini smiled at the service.
"How do you know he won't just keep the gold for him and just recruit anyone?" Drakven asked, looking back to the bar keep as he poured drink after drink for the patrons that came in, and simutaneously cast nervous glances their way. At the bar, a tussle had broken out between a small woman and some patrons, but the tiny woman had gained the upper hand of the men. Daini's amused eyes pulled away from the scene and back to Drakven.
"Because, I am not the person to triffle with."
Drakven stared at her for a moment in shock. How could she make a statement so bold, after having already admitting to not being able to defend herself on such a dangerous journey?
The misgivings on his face was like an open book for Daini to read. "You see, I am a diplomat, one of high standing, and just the wrong word from me, and he could lose his bar, get tossed from the city, or get arrested on some insinuation. That is the power I hold, and he knows it an respects it.
"In battle, the best person to have by your side is a man who knows how to weild a sword. In a city like this, the best person to have by your side is a woman who knows how to weild her words."
Suddenly, the bartender arrived, carrying a woman on his shoulder, gently placed the tiny woman on the table, and went back to his bar. She seemed confused about why she was here, but defiantly looked at Daini, putting her hands on her hips.
"Ok, so the barkeeper brought me here. May I ask, why?" Dedenda asked.
"Seems you have earned a great honor. If your up for it, I am in need of bodyguards." Daini sad to Dendenda.
"Oh? So its some big honor to be hired by you?" Dedendra said, making Daini smile.
"No. But Gernardi must thing your something special to fit my qualifications. You see, I am looking for only the most experienced people to be my bodyguards. So what say you, are you interested?" _________________ Sanity is the worst thing to wish upon a person

"Bodyguard, eh?" the little Urisig mused.
"Well I assure you, I am quite capable of doing what is needed of me. Just because I am small, doesn't mean I can't do what is neccessary. What I lack in height, I make up for in, other ways." she said, and crossed her arms over her chest. Daini had to admire her spunk, but she did not hire on spunk alone.
The barkeeper placed a plate of cheeses and meat on the table. At Daini's nod, Dedenda helped herself to some cheese. She pulled her bladed staff from her back, and cleanly carved a good sized chunk of cheese for herself. Daini raised an eyebrow.
Hmm, she wondered.....
She watched the little Urisig, noticing the gracefulness of her. She knew Urisigs were crafty, and very resourseful. And despite her size, she could be useful.
"Well?" Daini asked. She was a patient woman.
Dedenda chewed thoughtfully on her cheese, looking back and forth between the woman and the man. Neither said nothing.
"Sure. I will go. But I do not need your money. Only enough to get by. I do not require such, but I do know its worth." And it was then, Dedenda's eyes settled upon a bead sewn upon the woman's clothing.
"Now, that," she said, as she pointed at it. "would be more my price."
Daini had to dig a bit, to remember the customs of the Urisig. Ah, yes. They liked ornate beads, and brightly colored feathers. Those were more valuable to them than gold.
"I think I can arrange for what you want. So you will do this?"
"The name is Dedenda. Call me Dede, though. Only people I feel can trust can call me Dede." and the Urisig stuck her hand out. Daini accepted it, shaking on it.
"Welcome, then, Dedenda. This is Drakven." she said, indicating to the male. Dede nodded in greeting, and held out her hand to him as well.
"Now that I have agreed to do this, and know at least one person's name, it would be nice to know your name, lady. I can't call you lady the entire trip."
Crafty, indeed. Daini thought with a wry grin. _________________

"I am Ambassador Daini M'reck, Exemplar of all Aterame," Daini announced, adn smiled as she saw the shocked and awed look cross both their faced.
It was an amazing thing to be an Ambassador, for it was the highest rank any diplomat could achieve. yet, it was another thing entirely to be an Exemplar! Exemplars were even more rare than Ambassadors, in that they had to journey over the entire face of Aterame, gain favor with every city, then go before a secretive altar that only the Diplomats seemed to know of, and be granted such a title by the God of Diplomats, Kes'siergen. And not all who visited this altar recieved the title.
So the fact that those within earshot also stopped and stared at the woman who had declared herself as an Exemplar was really no surprise at all.
"Please, you can call me Daini though. I'm sure anything else would be a mouthful," the Ambassador said, a friendly smile crossing her kindly face. _________________ Sanity is the worst thing to wish upon a person
